A weekend exhibition and sale of Moorcroft British Art Pottery will be held from Friday March 28, 2008 through Sunday March 30, 2008 at the Scottsdale Marriott at McDowell Mountain, 16770 North Perimeter Drive.
Miami, FL, March 05, 2008 --(PR.com)-- A weekend exhibition and sale of Moorcroft Art Pottery will be held from Friday March 28, 2008 through Sunday March 30, 2008 at the Scottsdale Marriott at McDowell Mountain, 16770 North Perimeter Drive.
This beautiful British art pottery is keenly collected throughout the United States and a spectacular selection of new and retired Moorcroft designs will be presented at this event by Pascoe & Company, one of the world’s leading dealers.
Louise Irvine, a historian on British art pottery, will be flying over from England to introduce the new 2008 designs. Admission to the Moorcroft event is free and the show is open Friday March 28, 2008 6pm-8pm (Opening Night Reception – RSVP), Saturday March 29, 2008 9am-5pm and Sunday March 30, 2008 10am – 4pm.
Louise Irvine says, "I am thrilled to be introducing this beautiful new collection of Moorcroft to Scottsdale. It’s been more than a hundred years since William Moorcroft’s early pottery made its debut in the USA and was stocked by stores such as Tiffany’s of New York. Since then many American homes have been enriched with the color and craftsmanship of Moorcroft Pottery and we want to introduce the work of the talented new design studio to many more homes."
During this exhibition and sale collectors can enjoy the brilliant new 2008 Moorcroft designs which are entirely hand-made and decorated in the heart of the British Potteries. Moorcroft is based in a picturesque little pottery in Stoke-on-Trent, which was built by William Moorcroft a century ago. In the 1890s, Moorcroft perfected the decorating technique known as tube-lining, which involves trailing lines of liquid clay on to the surface of the piece to create an intricate raised pattern. The pieces are then hand-painted, glazed and fired to reveal the jewel-like colors.
Moorcroft now has a thriving design studio with 4 world class artists creating a variety of new designs each year. This year’s collection represents an exciting new direction in ceramic art and many of the limited edition designs for 2008 are already sold out around the world.
