About James P. McGuire
After 35 years as a Parole Officer, James McGuire retired and pursued a new career as a Storyteller and Actor, providing performing arts and acting services in Carmel, New York. He has been working as a Storyteller for over 15 years, telling stories about life for children and adults. He also teaches classes on the art of storytelling.
For the past few years, Jim has been collaborating with filmmaker Chris Casaburi. He has enjoyed playing the lead role in several short films, winning recognition from peers in film festivals in NYC and Philadelphia. Chris and Jim have developed a character, Fr. Jim is a member of the Marine Corps League and S.A.G.-A.F.T.R.A. He collaborates with veteran groups and encourages veterans to tell their stories. He also serves as a CDD teacher. In his spare time, he enjoys family activities, his cats, walking and television.
