Life Preservers Project Fundraiser to Benefit Survivors of Human Trafficking
9th Annual Summer Art Auction and Benefit raises awareness and funds to help combat human trafficking and the exploitation of women and girls.
New York, NY, May 15, 2018 --(PR.com)-- “Island Vibe” is the theme of the Life Preservers Project (LPP) 9th Annual Summer Art Auction and Benefit, being held on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, in New York City. Life Preservers Project is a 501(c)(3) non-profit artist collective focused on spreading awareness about human trafficking issues and raising funds to help local survivors with education, therapy, and supplies. The event begins at 6 p.m. at EDEN Local located at 508 W 42nd St, New York, NY 10036.
During this annual exhilarating party, the legal and art communities in New York come together to enjoy an evening of networking, hors d'oeuvres and the occasional cocktail to raise money for LPP initiatives.
The Art Auction is the primary annual fundraiser for LPP and will feature over 20 pieces of exceptional quality artwork donated by local and national artists. The artists will create their unique pieces on 12” and 23” surfboards and 3 specialty skateboard decks as part of the “Island Vibe” theme for the evening. Bidding starts at $50 to $100, with a chance to pre-bid online, and a live auction at the fundraiser. The event provides a unique mix of emerging talent, provocative creativity, and unbridled enthusiasm that can only happen through an artist collective. LPP will also include their 4th annual Pie Throw auction giving guests the ability to throw a whip cream pie in the face of a business professional from the legal industry.
“Over the past 9 years we have seen an immense outpouring of support from both the legal community and the various art collectives in New York,” stated Shana Pederson, Founder and President. "Time and again so many have selflessly donated their time, money and art. We have been able to provide much needed funds and even more importantly awareness for those who cannot always speak for themselves.
