Great Old Broads for Wilderness Present Women’s Advocacy Leadership Training for Conservation & Community Change

Over the past decade, Great Old Broads for Wilderness (Broads) has trained 137 women to be advocates for America’s public lands. Due to numerous requests, and because the training program principles apply to virtually any organization that seeks to effect change through grassroots organizing, Broads is now offering this training for the first time to non-members.

Durango, CO, May 11, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Great Old Broads for Wilderness (Broads) presents Women’s Advocacy Leadership Training, a two-day workshop designed specifically for women to grow leadership, advocacy, and grassroots organizing skills for conservation, social justice, and community change. The training will be held on August 2–3, 2018 at event sponsor Durango Nature Studies’ facility in Durango, Colorado. Based on Broads’ internal training program for women grassroots leaders, participants will learn the power of storytelling, relationship development, and other effective tools for activism and community organizing. The deadline to register is June 22, 2018.

“We are excited to share our training model with women passionate about conservation advocacy, as well as other activism activities that require firing up community engagement and action,” said Lauren Berutich, Grassroots Leadership Director for Great Old Broads for Wilderness and workshop instructor. “Participants will have hand-on, real-time practice of the principles we discuss, along with tips on evaluating program success.”

The workshop cost is $325, which includes all workshop materials, snacks, lunch, and a membership to Great Old Broads for Wilderness. The workshop will be limited to 25 participants. For more information and to register, visit: http://bit.ly/CommWALTS
