B-TEC Systems Makes Drying Test Cards...Easy

Scottsdale, AZ, May 12, 2018 --(PR.com)-- There is nothing more frustrating than watching paint dry, especially if you're under pressure to meet a deadline.

Everyday, the better automotive body shops will use spray out cards to ensure accurate color matching. Most often this means spraying the base coat, which in many cases is waterborne, drying it till it’s matted out, then applying the clear coat and drying that.

Some will use the same clear that will be used on the paint job, but either way, it needs to be dried / cured before checking the match. This is a time consuming process that may have to be repeated if the first attempt falls short of a 100% match.

B-TEC Systems introduced a small drying unit that keeps drying times...and frustration to a minimum. The ST-01 uses short wave infrared and air movement to dry the waterborne base coat. This reduces dry times to as little as 90 seconds.

Clears are cured in as little as 3 minutes using short wave IR only.

ST-01 was first introduced in Europe where its enjoying great success and its now available in North America. It was used at the Skills USA competition last year, where its drying performance was described as “Fantastic.”
