Luminello Announces New Innovation in Technology Award for Psychiatry Residents and Fellows
The new Luminello Innovation in Technology Award for graduating psychiatry residents and fellows aims to foster creative and innovative ideas in how technology could be used to improve patient care and practice in the field of psychiatry and throughout the mental and behavioral health profession. Deadline is June 30, 2018.
San Francisco, CA, May 15, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Luminello EMR today announced the first Luminello Innovation in Technology Award for graduating psychiatry residents and fellows. The award program aims to foster and generate creative and innovative ideas in how technology could be used to improve patient care and practice in the field of psychiatry and throughout the mental and behavioral health profession.
Psychiatry residents and fellows are encouraged to submit ideas that use technology to enhance or improve any aspect of the field, such as delivery of care, patient involvement and engagement, access to care, communication, assessment, outcomes, cost reduction, and practice efficiency and management. The winning idea will be selected by a special panel of the Luminello advisory board. The idea that is judged to be the most innovative and impactful will be awarded $2,000, and a $500 honorarium will also be awarded to the winner’s training program. In addition, all graduating residents or fellows who submit an idea will receive an additional free month of a Luminello premium plan.
Ken Braslow, MD, CEO of Luminello and practicing psychiatrist, noticed a technology void during his early career in private practice, and regularly observed psychiatry and mental health being overlooked by tech innovators. “We believe the field needs to continually be thinking about how technology can be used to improve our patient care, improve our processes and advance the psychiatry field,” says Dr. Braslow. “And, we hope by fostering this type of thinking through this award it will keep technology and its potential benefits in the forefront of psychiatry trainees’ minds as they consider how best to care for patients and better manage their practices throughout their careers.
