College Gears Up for Busy Weekend

Oswestry, United Kingdom, May 18, 2018 --(PR.com)-- North Shropshire College (NSC) staff are busy organising two important events that will take place on the same weekend. The Oswestry Campus is hosting NSC’s annual Family Fun Day, which runs in conjunction with the Shropshire FA under 8’s and under 10’s Football Tournament, and the Walford Campus Farm will be opening its doors to the public in collaboration with Moor farm as part of the national Open Farm Sunday event.

The Family Fun Day will take place on Saturday, 9th June 2018 from 10am until 3pm, and a variety of exciting activities will be on offer for visitors. There will be a treasure hunt, hair and beauty pamper activities, go karts, a bouncy castle, live music and food courtesy of Scholars restaurant and a star appearance from the exotic animals from the Walford Campus. The event has been a popular feature of the College calendar for many years and is sure to be a fantastic fun filled day for all the family.

Following on from the Family Fun Day, the Open Farm Sunday event will be taking place on Sunday 10th June 2018 from 10am – 3pm. The national event will provide visitors with a fantastic opportunity to take a behind the scenes look at the Walford Farm. There will be a variety of farm machinery on display, including tractors, our state of the art robotic milking machine and milking parlour, and the new milk vending machine unveiled at the recent Spring Lambing Day will also commence operation during the event. There will also be a number of exciting activities for those of all ages including refreshments from Gee Gee’s horse box, the Walford Campus Animal Unit and a guess the weight of the lamb competition. As there will be availability for disabled parking only at the Walford Campus, NSC will also be collaborating with Moor Farm near Baschurch to offer a trailer and tractor park and ride service on the day.
