Detectamet’s New First Aid Adhesive Dressings Combine X-Ray and Metal Detectability

York, United Kingdom, May 18, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Will you have the correct detectable dressing for that wounded worker? Detectamet’s new range of Metal and X-ray Detectable Adhesive Dressings for first aid use in the food industry includes eight of the most useful shapes that will cover the most frequently experienced wounds.

Metal detectability is achieved using a foil strip under the wound pad and a typical X-ray inspection system will identify the dressing because of the special X-ray visible ribbon under the cover.

Using a hypoallergenic adhesive to reduce the risk of skin irritation the blue polyethylene strip is wash proof and the contact pad is a blend of viscose, polypropylene and polyethylene offering a low water absorption and high level of cushioning and impact resistance.

Wearer trials proved that the preferred specification could survive on the wound for at least twice as long as the second best. Leo Wild Detectamet’s Sales Manager explained that “The combination of good flexibility and excellent adhesion gives our choice a winning first aid performance and the dual detectability is designed to reduce the worries about product contamination for food manufacturers.”

These sterile dressings fulfil ISO 10993 standards for biological compatibility. Correct use protects against cross contamination from staff wounds to products making them ideal for food workers.

The bright blue colour is easier to see and each of the eight shapes can be bought in packs holding from 50 to 1000 dressings. Mixed boxes of 100 or 200 of the eight designs are available for departmental use.
