OWA Haircare, Inc. Secures Venture Capital Funds to Launch Innovative Powder Shampoo
Pre-seed capital raised through RIT Venture Fund will bring the brand’s first product to market.
New York, NY, May 25, 2018 --(PR.com)-- OWA Haircare, Inc. has secured pre-seed capital from RIT Venture Fund I, LLC. to bring the brand’s innovative powder shampoo to market.
OWA Haircare is an emerging beauty company that develops high quality, innovative hair products. Moondust Hair Wash, this planet’s most sustainable shampoo, is a powder that functions like a liquid when hydrated with water. Conventional liquid shampoo is typically around 80% water. Moondust Hair Wash is 0% water. The company creates “out of this world amazing” products in pursuit of what is good for their consumers and Mother Nature. “I want OWA to spark a new wave of innovation in the beauty industry that considers not only what’s in the bottle, but everything from where it’s sourced to how it’s delivered,” said Kailey Bradt, Founder and CEO.
Dr. James Watters, Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration and Treasurer at RIT, commented, “We are absolutely delighted to partner with OWA Haircare and its founder, and RIT alumna, Kailey Bradt. Kailey is the latest example of the extremely talented and passionate individuals coming out of RIT ready to make an impact. Bradt received her Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering, followed by her Master’s in Product Development, both from Rochester Institute of Technology. “To have RIT Venture Fund be our first investor really speaks to the University’s efforts to support their alumni and how serious they are about building an entrepreneurial career path for their students. I hope to inspire other female entrepreneurs and women in STEM to take risks and embrace opportunity,” commented Bradt.
The funds provided by RIT Venture Fund I, LLC will bring Moondust Hair Wash to market later this year.
