The customer approved the long reach multi-rate 1G/10G transceivers for use in their system to ease the transition from 1G to 10G networks.

Dual rate 1G/10G transceivers are designed to operate at 1G or 10G in switches with 10G SFP+ ports and 1G/10G SFP+ ports allowing users to essentially future-proof their networks.
