Sweet Candy Café Founder Co-Authors New Book, "Beyond Her Reflection"
Felicia Evans Long joins several women to share about challenges, loss and healing to help others overcome
Fort Mills, SC, June 09, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Local business owner and Lumberton, North Carolina native Felicia Evans Long, has co-authored a new book, Beyond Her Reflection with author Tammy L. Woodard. Beyond Her Reflection will be released on June 30, 2018 with a book launch and signing in Fort Mill, South Carolina at the Hampton Inn. Pre-sales for the book began on May 8th.
For her book, Woodard selected several women to transparently share their stories of challenges, loss, trials, healing and overcoming in hopes to encourage readers facing similar situations. As one of the selected co-authors, Long, who lost her husband and business partner, Timothy Long, tragically in August 2014, wrote about their life together and how she continues to process this devastating loss without her life partner. Long hopes her story helps those who are grieving a loved one.
To secure your copy of the book signed by Long, pre-sale orders are being accepted here: https://www.sweetcandycafe.com/beyond-her-reflection. The pre-sale cost of the book is $20 plus $5 shipping. All proceeds from pre-sales purchased through the Sweet Candy Café link will go towards the 4th Annual Timothy Rodney Long Memorial Scholarship Fund and awarded to a student in Newark, New Jersey (Timothy was a Newark native). A book signing with chapter co-author and Sweet Candy Café's Founder, Felicia Evans Long, is slated for later this summer at her storefront in Downtown Lumberton, North Carolina.
Sweet Candy Café marked their fifth store anniversary in November 2017 in Downtown Lumberton, North Carolina. The anniversary was bittersweet without the store's co-founder and Long's husband, Timothy Long present. Tim passed unexpectedly on August 17, 2014 while on travel in Los Angeles, California. As his wife's business and life partner, Timothy was instrumental in the store's opening on November 25, 2012. The store sustained damage and loss of items only a month before opening due to a fire from a neighboring building. With the help of their building landlord, friends, family and the Lumberton community, the Longs were able to rebuild from the fire and reopen.
Sweet Candy Café continues to support the community by providing "Tim's Toys" to families in Lumberton affected by Hurricane Matthew. Long hosts an annual candy event at Sweet Candy Café that allows customers to sample confectionery treats from the Sweets and Snacks Expo in Chicago. Long also founded Candy Kids Wear Blazers (CKWB), an entrepreneurship program for kids, and launched the first cohort in January 2017. Long was also recently featured in a video about Sweet Candy Café from the University of Phoenix in January 2018 which has been viewed over 730,000 times.
