Pinetop-Lakeside Chamber of Commerce Announces Inaugural 4th of July Mutt Strutt in Pinetop, White Mountains, Arizona

Pinetop, AZ, June 12, 2018 --(PR.com)-- The Mutt Strutt, to be held from 9 AM to 4 PM, will have a 5K strutt/walk through the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest, yoga class with your dog, Phoenix Area Disc Dog performance and workshops, and multiple pet contests, including a pet parade in costume. Vendors will be selling a variety of wares, and food and drink will be available from p.l.a.c.&s., the chamber, Walking Down Ranch (a nonprofit veterans’ organization), and My Sister Can’t Cook Catering.

“As dog and animal lovers our chamber wanted to find a way to provide a save haven for animals affected by the big bangs of regional fireworks shows,” said Cyndie Shaffstall, chairman of the Pinetop-Lakeside Chamber of Commerce. “Most of the local cabins, hotels, and lodging offer pet-friendly rooms, so the White Mountains of Arizona is the perfect getaway for anyone who wants a quiet retreat during the Independence Day celebrations. Our mountain community enjoys temperatures typically 30° cooler than nearby Phoenix and Tucson, so this is the perfect escape for our furry desert neighbors - and their owners.”
