College Family Fun Day is a Huge Success
Oswestry, United Kingdom, June 13, 2018 --(PR.com)-- North Shropshire College (NSC) recently held its annual Family Fun Day at the Oswestry Campus. This year’s event raised money for two very worthy charities, The Isabelle Lottie Foundation and CRY For Matthew.
A wide range of activities were available for visitors to enjoy throughout the day including; face painting, a bouncy castle, go karts, animal handling, craft stalls, gymnastics displays from Border Counties Gymnastics, dance displays from the Chloe Elizabeth Dance Company, and a tombola. Staff from specialist departments at the College were also on hand to offer beauty treatments, and a range of tasty food options were provided courtesy of NSC’s Scholars Restaurant. The event was very well received, and a total of £1000 was raised which will be split between both charities.
Lucy Evans, Marketing and Customer Service Manager at NSC comments “We are overjoyed with the success of this year’s event. We had a fantastic day, with glorious weather, and a great selection of stalls and food. The College would like to extend its thanks to all of the stallholders who attended, to the local businesses that donated amazing prizes for our raffle, and our sponsors who have supported us greatly.”
There was an amazing opportunity on the day for visitors to sample Syrian and Indian Cookery produced by students and staff of the College. Tasting plates were just £1 to buy and there were so many positive comments about how scrummy the food was. Gillian Richards NSC’s Chair of Governors accompanied Oswestry’s Town Mayor, Sandy Best to meet the group and saw them creating the dishes within Scholars Restaurant, the College’s professional training kitchen and restaurant.
Star Wars characters from the forthcoming OzCon event in August at the adjacent Leisure Centre entertained visitors throughout the afternoon. Rocking Horse Studios were also on hand to take photographs and film the event as it unfolded.
It really was a superb day and it couldn’t of gone better. For news and events at NSC, visit the website at www.nsc.ac.uk or follow the Facebook page @NorthShropshireCollege.
