The Asia Institute Announces Commitment to Award $1 Million to Global Education
Santa Fe, NM, June 23, 2018 --(PR.com)-- On May 29, 2018 at the Re-Imagine: Innovations in Global Education Conference, the Asia Institute announced that the organization will award one million dollars, over the next decade, to continue to support the global competencies and knowledge of students who are seeking international education opportunities.
The Asia Institute, through the One Yuan One Dream Foundation, has co-developed multiple joint-scholarship programs with partner organizations such as the Pennsylvania Council for International Education (PaCIE) and the Colloquium for International Engineering Education. The Asia Institute, and its partners, see the further expansion of these initiatives as critical to increase the accessibility of international education opportunities for all students.
To date, the Asia Institute has awarded over $35,100 in student scholarship funding to support global research, internships and study abroad programs. In the following decade, the Asia Institute is committed to providing one million dollars to further assist students who dream of going abroad to pursue their global education interests, but who may come from disadvantaged backgrounds or have limited financial support. Moving forward, the Asia Institute will actively expand its existing partner program and joint-scholar model, by identifying creative and innovation solutions to one of the biggest challenges in international education, funding for program fees.
Bradley A. Feuling, Chairman and CEO of the Asia Institute notes, “We live at a time where the world is more accessible than ever before, however changing international currents may point to a future that is not the same. The Asia Institute is excited by this opportunity, to provide scholarships to more students, so that they may seize this moment in history. The next generation of leaders will undoubtedly bring a global perspective, and we are fortunate to be in a position to impact some of these leaders in small ways.”
Information regarding the Asia Institute’s joint-scholarship programs for 2019 will be released at a later date. Please visit their scholarship page for updates: http://www.asiainstitute.org/en/Scholarships/Scholarships.html
