Dakota Dental Provides Dental Implant to Korean War Veteran
Dakota Dental provided a dental implant, crown, and a new smile to a local veteran.
Apple Valley, MN, June 29, 2018 --(PR.com)-- From children to parents and grandparents, Dakota Dental is committed to providing professional and advanced family dental care services to its neighboring communities. Recently, the Apple Valley clinic provided a pro bono dental implant to help a local veteran of the Korean War get his healthy smile back.
Wendell Carrier, along with his brother, served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Today, he resides in Mound, Minnesota. After hearing about Dakota Dental’s Veterans Day event from State Representative Cindy Pugh, Carrier decided to contact Dakota’s family dentists to learn more about their tooth replacement procedures.
Carrier needed a dental implant to replace his missing upper front tooth. Dental implants are synthetic tooth substitutes that are placed into the root area and fastened to the jawbone, ensuring that the implant stays firmly in place just as a real tooth would. Dental implants can be designed to seamlessly and naturally blend in with other teeth, and unlike dentures, dental implants also help restore natural biting force and do not interfere with a person’s speech.
After consulting with Dr. Bennett Isabella at Dakota Dental, Carrier underwent the procedure to have the implant and dental crown placed. After the 90-minute procedure was completed, Carrier had a new tooth, a healthy smile, and a new outlook on life.
“This is going to make me happy not just today, but for the rest of my life,” says Carrier after receiving treatment.
The Dakota Dental team is grateful to those who have served and to those who are currently serving the country, which is why it was an honor to help give Carrier a healthy smile. For more information about implant dentistry, dental crowns, or other family dental services available at Dakota Dental, contact their Apple Valley clinic today to schedule a consultation.
