Omanye Limited Raising £500,000.00 on Crowdcube
The funds will go in support of plans to reach millions of the world’s unbanked and underbanked in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa.
London, United Kingdom, July 04, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Omanye limited has just launched its first crowdfunding round on Crowdcube targeting £500,000.00 in total, from investors. The UK based company, which operates Omanye Money, an international mobile money, money transfer and payment services provider says the funds will be committed to its plan to reach more of the world’s unbanked and underbanked in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa.
The company is offering a ten (10) per cent equity of this business to investors. Starting from a minimum of £10, each investor earns a share of the company, in return for their investment. Currently, it operates in the UK, UAE, Philippines, Ghana, Gambia and will soon be in Liberia.
Omanye is more than just money transfer. It champions global financial inclusion. The solution is designed to link unbanked and underbanked individuals, businesses and merchants in different countries to each other enabling them to participate in the global economy at affordable rates. The platform is built to help local ventures, even in remote parts of the third world, expand their outreach to multiple markets.
Unlike other operators in this sector, Omanye customers signup for E-accounts into which they load funds, hold the funds in the accounts if they wish to, and later transfer using different channels, including online and USSD.
An Omanye customer can also transfer funds to a non-account holder using the "Send Money to Mobile Number" feature. Here the customer enters the beneficiary's mobile number, the name and email address (optional) and amount to be sent. An account is opened in the name of the beneficiary, linked to the mobile number, funds deposited and account details - password and credit notifications -sent by SMS to the beneficiary's phone.
In addition to a prepaid MasterCard scheme, the company offers domestic and international card-less ATM withdrawals and payments using One Time Passwords (OTPs) sent by SMS or accessed via USSD.
“Our growth potential is huge. There are over one and a half billion people out there, who are unbanked or do not have access to the most basic banking service that many of us have come to take for granted,” said the CEO of Omanye Limited, Sammy Crabbe, “and we at Omanye are passionate about bringing such people into the global financial system; while we serve the rest of the general public who are looking for a fast, secure and cost-effective way of transferring money.
Omanye limited projects a 300k annual growth in their customers over 3 years.
