The Concept of AI-Government is Introduced by The Michael Dukakis Institute of the Boston Global Forum
How can Artificial Intelligence assist with and help to automate a spectrum of services such as healthcare, social services, transportation, tourism, labor relations, public financing, housing, education, agriculture, revenue collection, and natural resources management? That is what the Michael Dukakis Institute for Leadership and Innovation is examining with the introduction of AI-Government.
Boston, MA, July 07, 2018 --(PR.com)-- The Michael Dukakis Institute for Leadership and Innovation has developed the concept of employing Artificial Intelligence (AI) improve government policy-making, ethical behavior, and implementation. The concepts are being advanced for further exploration through an ongoing collaboration among Governor Michael Dukakis, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, CEO of the Boston Global Forum, parent group of the Michal Dukakis Institute, Prof. Nazli Choucri of MIT, and Prof. Thomas Patterson of Harvard University.
Explains Gov. Dukakis, “While E-Government uses communication and information technology, that we are all familiar with, to improve the performance of public sector agencies, AI-Government transcends E-Government by applying AI to assist in decision-making for all critical public-sector functions. These include, for example, public services, civic functions, and evaluation of public officials.”
At the core of AI-Government is the National Decision making and Data Center (NDMD). NDMD collects, stores, analyzes, and applies massive amounts of data relevant to the provision of public services and the evaluation of public programs and officials. “AI does not replace human governance or decision making, but guides and informs officials, while providing an objective basis for service provision and evaluation,” says Gov. Dukakis.
The application of AI to government is the brainchild of Mr. Nguyen, who spearheaded Boston Global Forum’s Artificial Intelligence World Society project focused on the developing role and influence artificial intelligence has on society. He called for well-meaning citizens of the world to develop an ethical framework for the advancement and deployment of Artificial Intelligence and to work toward building Next Generation Democracy based on AIWS principles.
AI can assist with and help to automate a spectrum of services such as healthcare, social services, transportation, tourism, labor relations, public financing, housing, education, agriculture, revenue collection, and natural resources management, to name a few.
AI-Government is a key component of the Artificial Intelligence World Society (AIWS) model developed by the Michael Dukakis Institute for Leadership and Innovation.
