Latin/Island Dance Lessons Brings International Flair to Clearwater Community Volunteers Center
Clearwater, FL, July 14, 2018 --(PR.com)-- On Monday the 9th of July the Clearwater Community Volunteers Center (CCV) hosted free Latin dance lessons, with the focus on bringing people together with dance and having fun at the same time. Due to the success of the evening, CCV Center will now host lessons every Monday and Wednesday at 7:30pm.
The Center is located at 133 N. Fort Harrison Ave. The lessons started with guests following demonstrations of classic Salsa, Merengue, and Bachata styles. Anyone of any skill level can participate and complimentary refreshments are available to attendees. There is no cost to attend.
Recent studies by the Mayo Clinic have shown that social dancing, like Salsa, has certain health benefits. These include reduced stress, improved coordination and general improvements to one’s overall health. A similar study by the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute corroborated the results.
“The purpose of the activity is to encourage people to be active and learn a new skill in a group environment – creating a sense of community,” said Michael Soltero, Manager of the CCV Center. “In The Way to Happiness, L. Ron Hubbard wrote, ‘Those who get along in life never really stop studying and learning.’ We’re happy to provide a facility that enables this.”
The Center is available to non-profits and volunteer groups for their activities, meetings and events. The Center was opened and is supported by the Church of Scientology Flag Service Organization.
