Chip's Consignment Center Opens New Showroom in Kakaako

Retro consignment store relocates to downtown Honolulu.

Honolulu, HI, July 19, 2018 --(PR.com)-- New Store Name, Hip New Location, Same Great Furnishings

Chip's Consignment Center, formerly The Consignment Center, is now part of Kakaako's industrial retail district in downtown Oahu.

The new 2,000-square-foot showroom offers shoppers a mellow and intriguing atmosphere in which to engage their retro design fetishes. Mid-century modern furniture, original art and rugs, all impeccably preserved and presented with discerning kitschologists in mind. Sales staff are always on hand to help with interior design and discuss consignment options. The store's 3,000-square-foot warehouse holds in reserve hand-selected, period specific salables procured from Hawaiian estate sales and local brokers.

"Our customers tend toward the eclectic, furnishings that are difficult, if not impossible, to find at traditional retailers," says Chip Buchmiller, owner of Chip's Consignment Center. “Our goal is to help our customers learn something new about the history and origin of furniture and art from the 50s, 60s, and 70s. If the knowledge share results in a sale, as it often does, so much the better."

Chip's Consignment Center accepts new consignment inquiries via email Tuesday through Friday. For large estates, on-site consignment consultations are considered. In-store consultants can offer assistance with pricing and consignment transportation to-and-from the showroom.

The new store is located at 401 Cooke Street, Honolulu, HI 96813. Hours are Monday thru Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; Sunday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. To reach Chip's Consignment Center by phone, please call 808-382-8240.

About Us
Proprietor Chip Buchmiller opened his first consignment store for the sole purpose of reclaiming and sharing with whoever would listen his passion for mid-century modern culture. Rich materials, vibrant colors, handcraftsmanship, qualities of a culture that in Chip's opinion was built to last. And last it has. Chip's Consignment Center, as in the past, continues to captivate shoppers of all ages. From vintage Marantz sounds to Danish coffers, carved wood works, conceptions by not-quite-obscure artists, stepping inside for the first time is like stepping forward and stepping back at the same time.
