Nexus Distribution Appoints Mark Ofenloch as Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Logistics professional and tenured leader Mark Ofenloch has been appointed as COO of Nexus Distribution.
Itasca, IL, March 07, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Nexus Distribution, a provider of third party logistics services announced today that Mark Ofenloch has been formally appointed as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (COO). In his new position, he will be responsible for providing leadership to all operational organizations company-wide, including Transportation, Warehousing, and Freight Management Services (FMS). Nexus distribution centers and transportation networks are located in Chicago, IL, Allentown, PA and Atlanta, GA.
Ofenloch joined Nexus ten years ago in 1996 as Director of Management Systems. Initially hired to assist with the implementation of a Warehouse and Transportation Management System (WMS, TMS) from Maves International, Ofenloch’s fresh perspective and keen instinct in logistics and warehousing made it apparent that his talents were greatly needed in the development and management of the Nexus Northeast Warehousing operation in Allentown, PA.
Throughout his tenure at Nexus, Ofenloch served in areas such as account development, transportation operations, fleet management, and warehousing operations in the Northeast and Southeast regions. About one year ago, he was asked to extend his service by providing leadership for the Nexus Midwest Operations as well, and his success in bringing unity and cohesion to the entire Nexus Operations team in a short amount of time has exceeded expectations.
As COO, Ofenloch’s main focus will be on increasing operational efficiencies in order to achieve higher levels of productivity. This objective will be supported through Nexus’ Cost Accounting initiative, the creation of new profitability metrics, and the “On Time, Real Time, Every Time” campaign.
When asked about the biggest challenges that lie ahead for the Operations team, Ofenloch responded, “We must not lose sight of our main objective, which is to deliver value to our customers and improve our financial return on our operations investment. Obstacles might include volatility in the economy, fluctuations in our customers’ markets, and of course there are the rising energy costs that are already impacting us and hurting our customers, too.”
