Albert Einstein’s Achievements Celebrated on 129th Birthday

Albert Einstein was born in Germany on March 14, 1879. In 1905, Einstein wrote three groundbreaking scientific theories that were published and still profoundly impact the world. These three theories include his paper on Photoelectricity, Brownian Motion, and his Special Relativity Theory. Xump founder Anton Skorucak said, “Einstein’s discoveries are around us in everyday life, for example without his theory of relativity we would not have GPS.”

Albert Einstein’s Achievements Celebrated on 129th Birthday
Los Angeles, CA, March 12, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Science toy store Xump.com, announced their first annual Albert Einstein Photo contest in recognition of Einstein’s 129th birthday. “Anyone can enter by submitting an original photo to us through our website and the person who we believe best attempts to look like Einstein will be picked as the winner,” said Xump Operations Manager Danny DiGiovanni. Xump.com is also offering two runner-up prizes, which will include a prize package of the science stores top selling Einstein products. One grand prize winner will receive a new Apple iPod Touch 32GB. “We’re really excited about the Einstein Photo Contest and hopefully through participating, people of all ages will learn more about Albert Einstein and how his theories have impacted the world in so many meaningful ways,” said DiGiovanni.

There is no doubt that Einstein’s impact on the world is a long-lasting one. A Nobel Prize winner in 1921, he has emerged over the last 100 years as the leading icon for science, innovation and all things genius.

To date, none of his theories have been proven wrong. Einstein was one of the founders of quantum theory, although his research was left incomplete at the time of his death in 1955. Today, quantum theory is among the top mysteries of science and Einstein’s insight on the subject is integral to unlocking many unknowns about the universe. Xump’s Customer Service Manager Ana Sanchez said, “This contest is a great way to get people familiar with our company’s commitment to science education and to memorialize Einstein at the same time, and we’re anticipating a great response!”

Frequently imitated and greatly admired, Einstein is often pictured as an old man with long unkempt white hair, a thick mustache, shoes with no socks and an eccentric attitude. One popular image of Einstein is the classic “Einstein Tongue” photo showing Einstein with his tongue stuck out in an act of silly defiance. Einstein preferred his privacy to the onslaught of rock-stardom beset upon him by a world stage. Through a combination of unorthodox demeanor and intellectual creativity, Einstein’s name and image has become a mainstream icon for genius, science and pop-culture world-wide.
