Marlborough EDC Chief Named Among "40 Under Forty"
Meredith Harris receives second leadership award this year.
MARLBOROUGH, MA, August 20, 2018 --(PR.com)-- The Worcester Business Journal (WBJ), today, named Marlborough Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) Executive Director Meredith Harris among its 2018 Class of “40 Under Forty”—a list of the region’s top business and civic leaders under the age of 40.
WBJ recognized Harris for her work at the helm of MEDC, where her accomplishments, leadership and innovation have helped fuel Marlborough’s recent economic successes by attracting major employers and creating thousands of jobs.
This is the second such honor for Harris this year, who, last month, was named among Banker & Tradesman’s 2018 Women of FIRE—an elite list of 17 female innovators from around Massachusetts, who are making a significant impact on the finance, insurance and real estate (FIRE) industries.
“I am honored and humbled to see my name in both of these prestigious lists,” said Harris, “but these accomplishments are not just my own. I am a part of a much larger team made up of MEDC, Mayor Vigeant, the City Council and the local business leaders and residents, who have all played an integral part in Marlborough’s recent economic successes. I am extremely proud of the work we’ve done together, and I look forward to continued collaboration and growth in the City of Marlborough.”
“Meredith’s innovative approach and impeccable work ethic make her fully deserving of these honors,” said Mayor Arthur Vigeant. “She is the epitome of a true leader who knows how to get the best out of the people she works with. I am very proud of her achievements and I couldn’t think of anyone who is more deserving to be named a ‘40 Under Forty’ ‘Woman of FIRE.’”
WBJ will honor Harris during the nineteenth annual 40 Under Forty awards event, which will take place on September 12th at Mechanics Hall in Worcester, MA.
