More to Fear Than Zombies: The Release of "The Invisible Mind" by M.T. Bass

The third installment of the Murder by Munchausen technothriller mystery series confirms that Elon Musk is right: Artificial Intelligence is more dangerous than nukes—or at least as dangerous as serial killers.

Lorain, OH, August 19, 2018 --(PR.com)-- The latest novel by M.T. Bass is a chilling follow up to Murder by Munchausen and The Darknet. The Invisible Mind sets up a final show down in the near future between detectives of the Artificial Crimes Unit and “The Baron,” a cyberpunk hacker extraordinaire who is resurrecting history's notorious serial killers, giving them a second life in the bodies of hacked and reprogrammed Personal Assistant Androids, then turning them loose to terrorize the city.

“While writing the series, guys like Elon Musk and Stephen Hawkins were all over the news with dire predictions about how artificial intelligence will destroy humanity as we know it,” said author Bass. “But it’s not the technology we have to fear, it is technology in the hands of madmen.”

The premise of the Murder by Munchausen Series is Siri, Alexa and Cortana have stepped off the countertop and into very humanistic robots to serve all our needs out in “meatspace.” For a tidy fee, hackers hijack the “synthoids” and replace their functional libraries with malicious code turning them into hitmen (which the newsmedia in the future has tagged “murder by Munchausen”). Without DNA, blood or fingerprints, solving such crimes is a challenge for detectives Jake, Maddie and EC of the Artificial Crimes Unit.

The Invisible Mind will be released on August 25th in trade paperback and digital formats. The eBook is available to pre-order for the special price of $.99 (regularly $3.99) at all the usual suspects in cyberspace.

M.T. Bass is a scribbler of fiction who holds fast to the notion that while victors may get to write history, novelists get to write/right reality. Born in Athens, Ohio, Bass grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. He graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University, majoring in English and Philosophy, then worked in the private sector (where they expect results) mainly in the Aerospace & Defense manufacturing market. He is the author of six previous novels: My Brother’s Keeper, Crossroads, In the Black, Somethin’ for Nothin’, Murder by Munchausen, and The Darknet (Murder by Munchausen Mystery #2). His writing spans various genres, including Mystery, Adventure, Romance, Black Comedy and TechnoThrillers. A Commercial Pilot and Certified Flight Instructor, airplanes and pilots are featured in many of his stories (but not this one). Bass currently lives on the shores of Lake Erie near Lorain, Ohio.
