Former Prisoner to Launch Upcoming Wood Sunglasses and Watch Brand with a Message

What started as a "side hustle" for a former prisoner trying to survive with limited job opportunities has led to the brands own unique designs made from some of the top craftsmen with a deep message behind them. After serving three and a half years in prison and numerous jail sentences, Joseph Wood found a way to turn his life around and tell his story and the lessons learned in beautiful handcrafted fashion accessories that you don't see everyday. Inspired by the books and teachings Joseph read to pass his time while incarcerated, Native Shades name is meant to represent personal self growth as well as the connection that we all share through nature. Joseph hopes that along with the help of some of the top craftsmen that Native Shades designs and products will become one of the top in its category.

Native Shades not only hopes to become one of the next top wooden sunglasses and watch brands, they also want to encourage a more healthy lifestyle that brings people closer to the environment. They are doing this through blog articles as well as giving back a portion of their sales to global reforestation. With many of the messages rooted in Native American culture Joseph hopes to spread some of the teachings that helped him through some of the hardest moments in his life. With it's Kickstarter, the brand will be introducing it's first 4 watch collections along with over 30 styles of sunglasses all exclusive to the Native Shades brand. Each watch collection will include 4 styles in each. Native Shades first mechanical movement watch along with the introduction of marble as a material are also new features that will be included in the upcoming Kickstarter.

The earliest Kickstarter backers will receive big perks saving well over a 100 dollars off retail value on some rewards.
