Real Integrated Partners with Detroit Public Schools Community District to Launch Rebrand
New Brand Signals Urban Education Reform for Detroit’s Public Education System
Detroit, MI, August 31, 2018 --(PR.com)-- As kids around the country head back to school, Detroit Public Schools Community District (DPSCD) is encouraging families to prepare for a new school year with a new outlook on the district.
DPSCD Superintendent Dr. Nikolai Vitti and members of the board officially unveiled the district’s highly anticipated new brand campaign, identity and video - narrated by Cass Tech alum Big Sean - to students, families and community members at Nolan Elementary-Middle School during their last day of school celebration on June 21. The new brand was created in partnership with local advertising agencies Real Integrated and BLVD featuring a new logo and tagline “Students rise. We all rise.”
With a focus on the community of Detroit, Real Integrated (RI) and BLVD gathered input from over 800 teachers, principals and families to learn their perspective on what DPSCD represents to them. Their feedback made it clear that there is still passion and hope that the school district will rebuild itself and restore the pride it once had.
“We have been honored to have an outstanding opportunity to launch the brand identity for Detroit Public Schools Community District, along with the video narrated by Big Sean,” said John Ozdych, Executive Creative Director at Real Integrated. About the partnership, Ozdych said, “It took a big team, and everyone’s invested in seeing Detroit Public Schools’ students, and their community, flourish. Stay tuned for what’s next.”
Since the launch in June, DPSCD has been leveraging the new strategy at events across the region, focusing on teacher recruitment and student enrollment. Over 100 applicants from the Midwest and Canada showed up for chance to fill open positions at a job fair on July 31. Throughout the month of August, DPSCD hosted pop-up enrollment centers at community locations, offering health services like free immunizations, Exceptional Student Education Services and translation services.
Less than two months into the campaign, Detroit Public Schools Community District is already showing signs of success. They’re ready to fully launch their new strategy - with more teachers, students and the community dedicated to help empower each child to achieve greatness - and continue the resurgence of the city and district through the classroom.
