Amazon Kindle E-Book Giveaway: Evangelical Alabama Poet Artemis Craig's "Inspirational Verse for Those Who Hunger and Thirst" Will be Free 9/1-2 and 9/8-9
Birmingham, AL, August 31, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Amazon’s Kindle Digital Publishing platform re-launches “Inspirational Verse for Those Who Hunger and Thirst [A Book of Poems to Feed the Soul]” with a free Amazon Kindle e-book giveaway this Saturday, Sept. 1 and Sunday, Sept. 2, and Saturday, Sept. 8 and Sunday, Sept. 9.
Book Quote:
“By God’s grace, I regained my appetite for the wisdom I received from my grandmother and my mother who taught me about life and introduced me to Christianity while serving up savory dishes of fried corn, okra, green tomatoes, and collard greens smothered in Deep South Chow Chow Relish . . .”
- Artemis Craig, “Inspirational Verse for Those Who Hunger and Thirst”
Book Summary and History:
“Inspirational Verse” is a collection of Artemis Craig’s faith-based poetry and prose that chronicles her arduous journey from spiritual bankruptcy to redemption.
“I call it ‘Soul Food for the Soul,’” says Craig, who was once on track as a screenwriter in Hollywood after graduation from USC film school before an onslaught of unfortunate circumstances cut that dream short. “My poems honor and reflect the strong women of God who wanted me to be saved.”
In a podcast interview with “ESP Presents,” Craig told host Ellen Sudderth, “My grandmother always told me, ‘Put God in front and you’ll be all right.’” Her faith was sorely tested when she lost her grandmother, father, and mother sequentially after her graduation.
Why the re-launch?
After the book was released, “Life happened while I was busy making other plans, and promotion of the book just got away from me,” says Craig. “I get stoked every time I hold that book in my hands.”
The book is now more visible on social media, and Craig hopes readers will reach out with their stories or favorite inspirational verses. “This book is for anyone who is searching for their purpose in this life, and hungry for change, truth, inspiration.”
Several projects are now in the Artemis Craig hopper, including a new poetry book, “Southern Fried Comfort Food: Recipes to Encourage the Soul” and her first novel, “A Little Taste of Death” (a sci-fi murder mystery). A screenplay is also in the works.
Craig considers herself blessed: “I’m in the process of recovering everything I lost.”
Reviews:
“Craig has risen out of the ashes of Hollywood as an evangelical poet who has walked through fire, and lived to tell her story.” - Midwest Book Review
“When Artemis talks about her attempts of suicide, severe deep depression and hopelessness, it’s her intention that upon reading her poems, we feel there is hope.” - Ellen Sudderth, ESP Presents
