Colorado's Solar Power Leader, EcoMark Solar, is Making Changes to Help Even More Coloradans
EcoMark Solar recently announced a leadership change.
Fort Collins, CO, September 01, 2018 --(PR.com)-- EcoMark Solar has been a nationally recognized “residential solar champion” in Colorado since 2010, installing more residential solar panels year over year. Since its inception, Co-Founders Alex Valdez and Jake DiRe have been committed to not just selling solar but selling “Colorado Solar.”
The company recently announced that Valdez is stepping away from the day to day operations to focus on his campaign as candidate for State House District 5. Valdez won the Primary election on June 26. If he wins in November, he will be the first elected official in the U.S. who once ran a solar company.
“As my longtime partner and Co-Founder of EcoMark, Jake has served in almost every department--from construction to sales,” says Valdez. “His experience and leadership will be key to the company’s continued growth and success.”
As the new CEO of EcoMark Solar, DiRe stresses that “the focus will continue to be both an installer of choice and an employer of choice in the solar industry.” EcoMark Solar was recently ranked by Solar Power World and the Denver Business Journal for the fourth year in a row as one of the state’s top solar contractors.
Since the company’s inception, Valdez and other members of EcoMark became active in COSEIA (Colorado Solar Energy Industries Association), the lobbying group for solar and environmental issues in Colorado. “We learned that we had to take an active role on the political scene to ensure that Colorado homeowners would always be able to benefit from solar energy,” Valdez stresses. “This experience taught me our industry needs a seat at the table, which is why I am moving into politics.”
“Alex and I are very grateful for the efforts of all the people over the years who have helped to build EcoMark Solar into the success it has become today,” says DiRe. EcoMark has installed over 10,000 kilowatts worth of power across thousands of homes. These systems have produced more than 21,000,000 kilowatt hours, which translates to saving over 17,000 tons of carbon pollution that would have been produced had these homes still been powered by the electrical utility. That is the environmental equivalent of planting over 884,000 trees which is enough to cover over 27 square miles—about the size of Boulder.
Simultaneous with the leadership hand-off, EcoMark Solar expanded from one office in Denver to three offices, opening up satellite locations in Colorado Springs and Fort Collins. The first new office (7363 McClain Pt., #110, Colorado Springs) serves the entire Colorado Springs metro area, and is the base of operations for EcoMark’s new Call Center. The second office (1225 Red Cedar Circle, Unit H, Fort Collins) serves all of Fort Collins and Northern Colorado, and also is the base for the EcoMark’s Roofing and Insurance division.
