Broadway Visits Clearwater at the Scientology Information Center
On Saturday September 8th the Scientology Information Center hosted a concert with performer, Joanie Sigal from “Broadway and Beyond.” The concert covered a selection of favorites, Broadway as well as a mix of romantic ballads, pop music, blues and country music.
Clearwater, FL, September 12, 2018 --(PR.com)-- The show began with Ms. Amber Skjelset, Center Manager, welcoming attendees and providing them with a brief history of the century old icon, the Historic Clearwater Building.
Ms. Sigal then performed songs including: Bring Him Home from"Les Miserables," Memory from Cats, Defying Gravity from Wicked, New York State of Mind and Walking in Memphis.
“It was an incredible way to spend an evening. I grew up going to jazz lounges and loved listening to the familiar songs. To have that feeling recreated here was amazing. Joanie’s voice range, song selection, presence/presentation really brings you to another place,” said Karen, concert attendee.
Ms. Sigal’s performance received two standing ovations and another guest, Rita said, “I am so glad we came came. We had a beautiful evening. I liked Joanie’s spirit, the environment and the atmosphere was great. She’s obviously been preparing for this for some time – every nuance, the song choices – everything! I am a singer myself and performed for 10 years and I can really appreciate her talent.”
The Center regularly hosts free concerts for the community. The upcoming events are:
Sept 22nd – “Sip and Learn” – A Tea Social with Education
Sept 23rd – Kathy Roberts piano concert
October 26th – The L. Ron Hubbard East Coast Theatre Performance of Shadows from Boot Hill.
“Since the Information Center opened in 2015 we have hosted over 150 events, several of which are musical concerts,” said Ms. Skjelset. “The Center is here to answer questions for those curious about Scientology and it’s Founder – L. Ron Hubbard. The Center also serves as a gathering place for community meetings and events. We enjoy providing uplifting entertainment that brings people together from the community.”
