Rock Band Manic Automatic Wins Semi-Finals at Club Good Hurt

Manic Automatic was declared the winner of last week’s Battle of the Bands Semi-Finals at Club Good Hurt. The band will return to the venue to compete in the finals on April 12th.

Los Angeles, CA, March 15, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Saturday March 8th, 2008, Manic Automatic was declared the winner of last week’s Battle of the Bands Semi-Finals at Club Good Hurt. The band will return to the venue to compete in the finals on April 12th.

Manic Automatic competed against Clean Corruption. The panel of judges included Smack Jonez and Nate C, co-founders of Smack Entertainment (a subsidiary of London based Resident Records) as well as GQ (co partner of Q Brothers Productions and producer and host of MTV's Scratch and Burn). Roger Dexter, lead guitarist of Trulio Disgracias, hosted the evening. Dexter is also co-owner of Inna Nuttshell Records, a subsidiary of Ter A Terre Records, which includes bands like Infectious Grooves, Suicidal Tendencies, Fishbone, and Cake. Judging was based on a three-category system: musical composition & execution, stage presence & performance and audience participation. The winner of the final round in April will receive a $5000 grand prize.

About the Band
Frontman S. Robert Morley provides lead vocals for Manic Automatic. Evan “EvRock” Brau, on guitar & backup vocals, has been featured on numerous network prime-time programs, as well as original programs on Sci-Fi Channel, ESPN and MTV. Baron Silverton plays rhythm guitar. Derek Syverud can be heard on Guitar Hero 3 as the drummer for Slash and Tom Morello. Their bass player Al Lay has performed as session bassist with Ozzy & Black Sabbath and various other signed artists.
