Providence Golf Community is Ready to Go Pink for the Win Again This Year
For the sixth year in a row, the Providence Booby Brigade will be holding events to raise record funds for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. There will be a golf tournament, walk, casino night, and other activities to which the public is invited to participate. Getting involved is a combination of community activism and unity, which makes Providence Golf Community a special place indeed.
Davenport, FL, September 14, 2018 --(PR.com)-- The Providence Golf Club Community is known for its many enjoyable amenities, beautiful Florida setting, and luxury homes by nationally known builders. The residents within come together with a purpose every year for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and many events are planned with the purpose of raising the most money possible for this special cause. 2018 is no exception and the Providence team, known as the Providence Booby Brigade, is ready for action and looking for participants.
The 6th Annual Pink Classic Golf Tournament will be held on October 6th at Providence Golf Club. With enough registered participants, the Women's Center for Radiology will bring their mobile mammogram unit and provide mammograms during the event. You can visit providenceboobybrigade.com to sign up.
The Pink Classic title sponsor is the Providence Marketing Group again this year, which is comprised of all the major builders at Providence: ABD Development Company, Lennar, Park Square, D.R. Horton, Emerald Homes, and FID Capital. “We are so grateful to them for all the support they give us,” said Margaret Hines, Residents Clubhouse Manager and organizer of the Making Strides events. “We are also so thankful to Tim Greco at the Providence Golf Club and his staff for helping us make this and our other events possible.”
The keystone event for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Polk County is the annual walk, scheduled for October 13th at Lake Mirror in Lakeland, Florida. This is followed by the next big anchor event in Providence: the Casino Night & Texas Hold 'Em Tournament on December 1st at the Providence Golf Club in the elegant clubhouse. The tournament sold out last year and space will be expanded this time to ensure everyone is able to enjoy this exciting night. The cash prize last year was $500 and the Providence Making Strides organizers are looking for sponsors and donations for this event as well.
In years past, the Providence Booby Brigade has been one of the top fundraisers in Making Strides Against Breast Cancer in Orlando. Last year, they were number one of all teams in Polk County, raising over $25,000 for the fight against breast cancer. Currently for the 2018 year, the Providence Booby Brigade is in first place in Polk County: over $3,000 has already been raised before any of the big events.
During the kick off party for Making Strides of Polk County, it was evident that Providence team captain and resident Mary Beth Miesemer’s speech inspired everyone in the room. The team encourages new members to sign up and join them; they are known to have a great time while raising awareness for breast cancer research and support.
