5Picture Films Asks Can a Book Create a Pension & Health Fund

5Picture Films intends to create a pension and health fund for professional boxing by raising start-up capital through book sales, and a feature documentary addressing the lack of a pension and health plan in the sport.

Los Angeles, CA, September 14, 2018 --(PR.com)-- The book and the subsequent documentary will celebrate boxing and its storied history, while addressing the issues of brain injury, and other long-term ailments connected to the sport.

The book and documentary outlines a case study on various fighters with different levels of success in the sport that share common health and finance problems upon retirement from the sport, and in some cases before retirement. 5Picture Films currently have an active Kickstarter campaign to help raise money for the documentary production.

The goal is to raise enough money to establish a baseline of legal, health, accounting, and fund managing consultants, while creating an escrow account to set donated revenue aside until meetings with advisors, sanctioning bodies, consultants, and promotional entities can happen.

According to 5Picture Films', Michael Gerald, "it is not just a fighter safety issue, it is a fighter life issue, and anyone involved in the sport that is not interested in a pension and health plan for boxers, does not care about them."
