Bally Bee Pictures have launched a crowdfunding campaign for Real Thirsty, a short film written and directed by a first-time filmmaker, Robert Gilbert, and starring Bryan Cranston, Joely Richardson, John Douglas Thompson & Jack Dee. A witty and original take on zeitgeist themes of diversity and celebrity has brought a fantastic team of people together for this creative adventure.

A desperate actor is suddenly cast alongside Hollywood movie star, Bryan Cranston, in a play in London’s West End. Such close proximity to a major celebrity brings out the worst in Lee (Robert Gilbert) as the actor decides to make a film about a desperate actor cast in a play alongside Bryan Cranston.
Bally Bee Pictures proudly presents Real Thirsty, a short film written and directed by first time filmmaker, Robert Gilbert, and starring Bryan Cranston, Joely Richardson, John Douglas Thompson & Jack Dee. A witty and original take on zeitgeist themes of diversity and celebrity has brought a fantastic team of people together for this creative adventure which has been funded entirely by the good will of many.
Rob Gilbert from Bally Bee Pictures said: "Bryan gave me the gift of having his name attached which attracted a stellar cast and established industry professionals, however, I've also tried my best to pass the opportunity on to lesser known, up and coming cast and crew like myself. It's an incredible starting point for a first time film maker and I'm determined to make the most of it."
After completing the production phase of the project, Rob turned to Bristol based Crowdfunding and Investment company, Fundsurfer to help raise the remaining £15,000 needed to complete the editing and post production and finish the film.
