Grand Opening of Haven Massage & Wellness in South Tampa
Tampa, FL, September 28, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Owner Russell Huston, LMT, announces the grand opening of Haven Massage & Wellness’ new South Tampa clinic on Thursday, October 11, from 5 PM to 7 PM, in Suite 301 of the Crown Plaza building on 3825 Henderson Boulevard. The grand opening celebration is open to the public, and it kicks off a month-long offer of 50 percent off oncology massage services for cancer patients, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Haven Massage & Wellness is a holistic wellness center that focuses on healing massage therapy and energy interventions. At the grand opening of the new South Tampa clinic, guests will learn about the different types of healing modalities offered and their impact on quality of life, while enjoying healthy snacks from Clean Eatz and opportunities to win prizes. Tours will be available of the clinic and In His Hands Massage next door, which was established in 2012 by therapist Patty Pascua and shares the suite.
Haven Massage & Wellness puts a different spin on traditional massage, offering a place of refuge for people in pain. Huston focuses on lymphatic drainage, oncology massage, scar release, and reiki as the core services of his practice. He also offers therapeutic massage, pregnancy massage, and Thai massage. Huston says, “My goal is to be an oasis for my clients in a sea of medical procedures.”
Huston began his career in IT, but soon found himself on the path of healing. He received his licensure as a massage therapist in 2005. After working with a client in 2012 who was developing issues in his leg, Huston pursued certification in lymphatic drainage. He was able to effectively treat the client for fluid build-up and help his doctor make a pre-diabetes diagnosis, allowing the leg to be saved.
In 2013, Huston received training in oncology massage, after a friend’s wife was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. He began working in the chemotherapy bays of Florida Cancer Specialists and Research Institute, and he continues to work weekly with patients there. He uses manual techniques for chemo-induced neuropathy and helps patients to decrease stress in their bodies. He is a member of the Society of Oncology Massage.
Huston is trained in the STRAIT (Scar Tissue Release And Integrated Therapies) Method of scar release. Using body mechanics, therapeutic stretching, and strengthening, he works to increase function in his clients’ scar tissue to improve their mobility and alleviate pain.
He also has been doing energy work since his late teens. In 2014, he received his attunement for Reiki Master.
Huston considers himself to be a therapeutic bodyworker. He says, “I fearlessly do things other therapists are reluctant to do” to bring comfort to his patients, including his work as an end-of-life doula. He is a highly rated therapist with many years of providing compassionate care to clients, and he is excited to open this new South Tampa clinic.
