Rear Admiral from the Royal Navy to Present a Keynote Address at Maritime Reconnaissance & Surveillance Technology 2019

This year SMi are delighted to host Rear Admiral William Warrender, Flag Officer Sea Training, Royal Navy who will present a keynote address on day one of the conference. In light of the operational and technological challenges facing navies as they try to monitor the sea to protect their borders and ensure the blue economy continues to grow, Rear Admiral Warrender will present: "Training for Operations: Maintaining Operational Readiness and Achieving Maritime Domain Awareness in Multi-National Naval Operations." The presentation will cover how training is essential in creating advanced operators for maritime surveillance, current technologies adopted by the Royal Navy for maritime reconnaissance at sea and future plans and developments for the Royal Navy in optimising maritime situational awareness.

Alongside the two-day conference, there will be a pre-conference workshop, “C-SIGMA and S-AIS, Creating a New Paradigm,” which will take place on Tuesday 5th February.
