MarketCurrents Wealth Management Hosts Annual Investment Trends Summit
New York, NY, October 24, 2018 --(PR.com)-- MarketCurrents held a closed-door summit bringing together a number of family offices on the 17th of October at the Omni Berkshire in Manhattan. The event covered investment trends notably in hedge funds, private equity and real estate.
RSM co-hosted the event. Ben Berger, who is a partner at RSM and heads up the private client services division for Southeast region and the Baltimore office sat on the opening panel with Sherry Witter, CEO of the Witter Family Office, Wendy Craft, Chief Of Staff of Fulcrum Equities. Sumehr Sondhi of MarketCurrents moderated. The discussion was centered on accessing deal flow, taxes considerations when investing and succession planning best practices.
“I truly enjoyed my time on the panel. I learned a great deal from my co-panelists and attendees. The insights that were shared at the forum was incredibly valuable,” commented Berger.
The hedge fund panel included Marcia Nelson, managing director at the Alberleen Group who moderated. Mary D’Souza, who represents a private family office and Liam Dalton, CEO of Axiom Capital participated. The discussion centered on vetting potential hedge fund investments, fee considerations and performance expectations.
The final panel focused on the world of Private Equity, where family offices are currently very active. Kamil Homsi, who manages a Dubai-single family office and is the President of Global Realty moderated the session which included Ira Perlmuter, CEO of T5 Equity Partners and Gennaro (Jerry) Musi, Tax Partner at RSM. The panel covered real estate, direct and indirect deals, tax implications investing amidst ever changing regulations as well as a number of other interesting insights from both family office and service provider perspectives. Jerry Musi stated, “Great event and really enjoyed participating on the PE panel sharing my tax thoughts.”
The next event will be held in early December and will cover insights into 2019 that we can expect from the private wealth sector. The event will be covered in detailed within MarketCurrents Wealth Management’s 2nd Annual Investment Trends Edition, which will be out early November.
