Energy Web Foundation (EWF) and Energy Blockchain Consortium (EBC) to Explore Opportunities, Benefits, Challenges of Blockchain

Miami, FL, October 29, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Energy Web Foundation and the Energy Blockchain Consortium today announced they have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) agreeing to facilitate the shared objectives of the two organizations.

The MOU between the two organizations identifies many opportunities of collaboration, including:

· Partnering to foster standards creation / frameworks in the energy blockchain space to ensure interoperability
· Identifying opportunities for creation and/or delivery of educational resources for electricity market participants seeking consulting and education
· Experimenting with EBC-facilitated technology developments with EWF’s blockchain

“Blockchain is an important new technology that could change the way energy companies and customers engage,” said Hervé Touati, CEO of EWF. “But as a promising yet young technology, education, awareness, collaboration, and standardization will be critical to help legacy energy companies and startups alike understand and leverage its potential, which is why we’re pleased to explore such opportunities together with the Energy Blockchain Consortium.”

“Energy in general is ripe for blockchain to facilitate transactions in novel ways, and interoperability standards are the key to blockchain” said Tony Giroti, Chairman & CEO, EBC. “Energy Web Foundation is the perfect partner to help us discover, illuminate, and pursue the possibilities.”
