New LEER Concept Cap on Display at SEMA 2018 - Supports Variety of Advanced Access Technologies

Elkhart, IN, October 30, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Providing a tantalizing glimpse into the company’s research and design plans, LEER® is featuring a concept cap at this year’s SEMA Show (LVCC, booth 35039, South Hall, upper level). Not yet scheduled for production, this cap explores cutting-edge design elements, and includes some state-of-the-art access technologies.

The concept cap is featured on a special build by MAD Industries. Installed on a 2019 Chevy Silverado, this LEER concept cap implements refined aesthetics, such as:

· Advanced SUV styling with integrated rear-door spoiler
· Wrap-around window treatment
· A rear door with an ultra-clean look – no visible hardware, no handle, no holes through the glass
· Compound curved rear glass for a sleek transition to the tailgate
· Large tip-out side windows
· Robust, extruded “C” hidden rear-door hinges with robust latching system, accessible by key, hidden keypad, or remotely with a smartphone app

This concept cap can deliver new levels of access control and convenience with keypad entry, keyless entry, and Bluetooth-enabled app entry options. An encrypted touchpad integrated into the cap allows keyless access to the truck bed. Smartphones can also open the cap with a LEER app – an industry first. Future versions of the app may also deliver advanced capabilities within the truck bed.

All aspects of this concept cap are in the early-design and evaluation phase of LEER’s development process. There is no schedule for when elements of the concept cap will be put into production.
