Local In-Home Tutoring Service Launches New Program to Help Students Become High Performers
Tutor Doctor was founded in 2000 as an alternative to the “one-to-many” teaching model most extra-curricular learning centers offer by providing a personalized one-on-one, in-home tutoring service to students. The company quickly grew and in 2003 turned to franchising as a way of expanding the company’s impact. Now with offices internationally, the Tutor Doctor vision is becoming a reality as the lives of students and their families are being.
Orlando, FL, November 13, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Tutor Doctor, a personalized one-on-one, in-home tutoring service, is offering families and schools a new way to help all students become high performers. It’s an academic Game Plan called “X-Skills.”
Studies have shown that the single greatest factor which influences student success is not academic knowledge, but academic discipline. This includes learning skills such as planning and organization, follow through and action, as well as sustained effort. All of these skills fall into a category known as Executive Functions, or “X-Skills,” which can be thought of as the skills human beings develop to execute tasks independently.
“Using our 'X-Skills' process, students can be coached to improve the skills which contribute to strong academic discipline,” said Tony DiSanza, owner of Tutor Doctor of Southwest Orlando. “Beginning with middle school, parents are offered an opportunity to integrate X-Skills development into their student’s tutoring sessions.”
Every student is different, which is why a one-on-one method to tutoring is used in the Tutor Doctor learning model, but “X-Skills” adds extra steps which get students started on boosting their marks in school. Together with the one-on-one tutoring model, students will build both the confidence and study skills necessary to succeed in school.
Tutor Doctor has continually impacted the lives of students by helping them improve test scores in school. For more information regarding “X-Skills,” contact Tony DiSanza at 407-612-2720 or mcoadmin@tutordoctor.com.
