Sky Ridge Medical Center Receives "A" for Patient Safety
Lone Tree, CO, November 16, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Sky Ridge Medical Center has been awarded an "A" from The Leapfrog Group in its Fall 2018 Hospital Safety Grades. The report, which was released November 8, uses national performance measures from five groups including the American Hospital Association and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. An "A" represents the highest possible rating for a hospital’s overall performance in keeping patients safe from preventable harm and medical errors.
“The staff at Sky Ridge works hard to ensure that we exceed expectations in all we do,” Sky Ridge CEO Susan Hicks said. “Safety and quality are top priorities at Sky Ridge. This recognition by The Leapfrog Group validates the commitment of our team to delivering exceptional care to our patients, and we are deeply proud.”
Hospitals receive an A, B, C, D or F based on their performance. The Leapfrog Group assesses more than 2,600 hospitals across the country and 32 percent of those earned an "A." The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. The rating system is focused entirely on errors, accidents, injuries and infections and is updated every six months.
Sky Ridge has earned an "A" rating every quarter since Fall 2016. To see the hospital's full grade details, and to access patient tips for staying safe in the hospital, visit www.hospitalsafetygrade.org
