With the new lease accounting standards finally taking effect in just a few months, companies around the globe are starting to grapple with the significant change coming their way in 2019. The new regulatory lease accounting standards, ASC 842 and IFRS 16 released by the US-based Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and allied International Accounting Standards Board (IASB), will require organizations to report and disclose all lease obligations and reclassify them as assets and liabilities.
