Tim Hogans Appointed as Chairman of the Board at Coral Springs Regional Chamber of Commerce
Coral Springs, FL, December 14, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Tim Hogans, external affairs area manager at Florida Power & Light Company (FPL), the largest rate-regulated electric utility in Florida, is the new chair of the Coral Springs Regional Chamber of Commerce’s board of directors. The announcement was made recently by Cindy Brief, Coral Springs Regional Chamber president and CEO. FPL has been involved with the Chamber since 2004 as one of the largest supporters and most consistent advocates for the Chamber.
The chair is the leader of the board with the greatest stake in the organization, holding controlling interest in the organization as well as the most voting power of any individual. Long-term decisions, such as whether or not to pursue certain endeavors may be determined by the board under the chair’s leadership.
“I am privileged to serve the chamber board and represent the city with ‘Everything under the Sun’ as it continues to grow,” Hogans said. “Our chamber has been a driving force behind the evolution of Coral Springs, bolstering the needs of the business community and attracting new companies to the area. I look forward to continuing the tradition of excellence that has been in place thus far while focusing on propelling this chamber and our community forward.”

Hogans is committed to a variety of community and charitable organizations such as Leadership Florida (Gold Coast Regional Chair); immediate past chairman of the board for the Greater Pompano Beach Chamber of Commerce, past chair of Leadership North Broward; secretary for Junior Achievement of South Florida; vice president of outreach for Leadership Broward Foundation; secretary and nominating committee member for the Urban League of Broward County; executive committee and chair of the Energy Committee for Broward Days, Inc. and treasurer for the Parks Foundation of Broward County and 2-1-1 of Broward County. He is a member of Leadership Florida Connect Class VI, Leadership Broward Class XXXIII; Florida Association of Counties; American Association of Blacks in Energy; FAMU-FSU College of Engineering Advisory Council; IT Data Manager for Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity, Inc. -Alpha Rho Chapter and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
Prior to joining the external affairs department in January 2015, Tim served in multiple leadership roles within Customer Service Field Operations and Power Delivery over the past 15 years. This included positions as the small/medium business accounts regional manager for Miami-Dade and Broward counties, engineering lead, resource lead, production lead, project designer and customer project manager. Hogans’ outstanding leadership achievements furthermore earned him the distinction of the 2018 Fort Lauderdale Man of the Year, benefiting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS).
