SS&LCares Pioneers the PEO Broker Competition

Clearwater, FL, December 04, 2018 --(PR.com)-- SS&LCares presents the inaugural PEO Broker of the Year Contest highlighting the best of the relatively unknown industry of employee leasing. Categories include best overall PEO Broker, most payroll closed (both white- and blue-collar categories), best mom & pop broker (only one or two employees), and most philanthropic. All PEO Brokers domiciled in Florida are welcome to participate and may begin submitting applications on January 1, 2019. Applicants must submit one application for each category in which they wish to participate. Judging for the contest will take place after all applications have been received by March 31, 2019.

PEO Brokers are a little known, yet extremely vital group who push the growth of PEOs every year throughout the nation. PEOs, or Professional Employer Organizations, are HR organizations who utilize the combination of payroll and a co-employment relationship to provide thousands of companies with workers’ comp insurance and a suite of high-level benefit plans that would otherwise be unattainable.

PEOs generate between $136 - $156 billion in gross revenues working with between 156,000 - 180,000 small to mid-size businesses. Businesses in a PEO arrangement have been shown to grow 7 – 9 percent faster, have 10 – 14 percent lower turnover, and are 50 percent less likely to go out of business according to NAPEO, the National Association of PEOs.

The judge and beneficiary of the event, RCS Pinellas, is a multi-dimensional nonprofit serving over 130,000 people in Pinellas County each year. RCS Pinellas addresses hunger, homelessness, domestic violence, and lack of basic needs. Founded in 1967 as an interfaith initiative by 15 congregations of various faiths and ethnicities, they were recently named the 2018 Large Business of the Year by the Upper Tampa Bay Chamber and are the highest rated human services nonprofit in the state of Florida according to Charity Navigator.
