Alice M. Henry Roubos, PT, DPT is Elected to the American Health Council’s Physical Therapy Board

New York, NY, December 05, 2018 --(PR.com)-- The American Health Council elected Alice M. Henry Roubos, PT, DPT to its Physical Therapy Board. Currently a physical therapist at Vitality to You, a service of Genesis Rehab Services, in Ocean Shore Pod, N.J., she mostly works with geriatrics patients in assisted living facilities and in their homes. While she has held her current role at Vitality to You since April of 2018, she previously worked in traditional outpatient physical therapy for three years. Since entering the healthcare industry eight years ago, she has expanded her skills and knowledge in neurological injuries.

After hearing about a traumatic leg accident that her father sustained as a child, Alice M. Henry Roubos became interested in pursuing a career in the healthcare industry. She eventually enrolled at Touro College and during her academic studies, her father suffered a second traumatic leg accident. Both accidents served as a catalyst in her career as she immediately adapted a nurturing and caretaker role. She later earned a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Touro College in 2015. In addition to her father’s injuries, she witnessed the impact of physical therapy on her grandfather, who suffered from Alzheimer’s disease. Her family experiences have since served to both inspire and help her to empower others with empathy.

According to its website, Vitality to You provides outpatient physical therapy to patients who may have a challenging time leaving their homes and wish to remain in their homes but are not homebound individuals. By receiving outpatient therapy in their homes, these patients can perform tasks in a realistic setting and achieve personal goals they set for themselves. Among her myriad professional accomplishments, Alice M. Henry Roubos is proud to have obtained certification in Kinesio Taping 1 & 2, Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization 1 & 2 and Peripheral Maitland Mobilizations. Her research was published in Cardiac Health and she is the recipient of Who’s Who among POWER (Professional Organization of Women of Excellence Recognized).

She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and donates time and funds to her local soup kitchen. In her free time, she enjoys walking on the boardwalk at the beach and enjoying the scenery. With a successful career at hand one that she attributes to her passion, education and strong family support, Alice M. Henry Roubos plans to develop technology to better serve patients and physical therapists in the next five years. She hopes this technology will improve carryover, improve accessibility and improve patient participation.
