National Van Lines' "Can the C.O.O. Campaign" Feeds 150 Families
National Van Lines Remains Vigilant in Struggle Against Hunger.
Broadview, IL, December 21, 2018 --(PR.com)-- National Van Lines makes moving easy, but the interstate-moving company realizes many Americans don’t have such an easy go of it during the holidays.
To help spread some cheer this year, the cross-country movers' employees recently collected and donated enough food to feed 150 families.
The effort was part of National Van Lines’ recent Can the C.O.O. campaign. No, the company didn’t dismiss its Chief Operating Officer. Instead, employees “canned” NVL President & COO Tim Helenthal by filling his office with canned food and other non-perishables.
“I frequently tell National Van Lines employees, ‘My door is always open,’” Tim said, “and they took me at my word-literally. Navigating the ever-increasing stacks of cans to reach my desk became a challenge as employees contributed more and more items. I couldn’t be more proud of our team for their generosity.”
Once employees had filled Tim’s office to the brim, they formed a fire-brigade-style line to transport the much-needed items to an awaiting van. Employees then drove the donations to the Oakbrook Terrace Salvation Army food pantry, hosted at Christ Church of Oak Brook.
National Van Lines doesn’t wait until Christmastime, Hanukah or Kwanzaa to battle hunger. It’s a fight the company wages 365 days a year through its alliance with the charitable organization, Move For Hunger. National Van Lines has roughly 20 interstate-moving agents nationwide who partner with the nonprofit organization by picking up non-perishable food from people who are moving and delivering the items to local food pantries.
