Fire Doors and Egress Doors Inspection and Maintenance Webinar Slated for January 17, 2019
Fire Smarts, in partnership with Telgian, will present a training webinar, “Fire Doors and Egress Doors Inspection and Maintenance” on January 17, 2019.
Phoenix, AZ, December 22, 2018 --(PR.com)-- The Fire Doors and Egress Doors Inspection and Maintenance webinar slated for January 17, 2019, will be based on NFPA 101: Life Safety Code and NFPA 80: Standard for Fire Doors and Other Opening Protectives and will provide an overview of which doors are required to be inspected for fire-rated assemblies and egress doors. General inspection provisions will be covered including those that specifically apply to healthcare occupancies. Participants will also learn functional requirements for fire doors and egress doors and how to identify points applicable to performing an inspection.
Fire doors and egress doors are critical safety components in need of ongoing inspection and maintenance in order to function properly. Fire doors are intended to reduce the spread of fire and smoke, while egress doors are designed to allow occupants safe exit during an emergency. Learning objectives include understanding the basic functional requirements for fire doors and egress doors, learning how to identify and locate which doors within a facility require inspection, and determining required inspection frequencies and procedures.
Each participant registered, attending the full live training webinar or viewing the post-live recorded on-demand webinar will receive a Certificate of Completion and 1 contact hour CEU. Certificates can be used as supporting documentation for CPD points required for NICET certification, as supporting documentation for credit hours required for re-certification as part of the Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code (UCC) program and as supporting documentation for continuing education (CE) hours for Texas Commission on Fire Protection certifications.
The Fire Doors and Egress Doors Inspection and Maintenance webinar will be presented by Tracey Bellamy P.E., CFPS. Bellamy, the Chief Engineering Officer of Telgian Corporation, has more than 25 years’ experience in the fire protection community including all areas of the fire sprinkler industry. His extensive experience includes fire suppression system design, fire hazard analysis and fire protection system inspection and testing.
