On the occasion of the 76th International Motor Show in Geneva (2-12 March 2006), Quinting, Swiss watch manufacturer of unique transparent watches, presents a limited edition of “CR24H” chronographs (Car Race 24 Hours).

Geneva, Switzerland, March 10, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Three first watches of this series will be worn by the drivers of LMPL, the racing car of ArtioteQ Swiss Spirit, the first Swiss team that will take part in the most famous prize in automobile endurance races, the 24 Hours of Le Mans that will be held in the French city of Le Mans in June 2006. Each chronograph will be individually numbered with the driver`s blood group.

The Quinting watch with unique transparent movement made of sapphire is a machine just like a racing car, because many of the same principles apply. One of the engineers who developed this unique timepiece comes from the automotive sector and his knowledge could bring new ideas to the traditional watchmaking. The Quinting watch is unique by its transparency provided by exceptional sapphire movement. Like racing cars that could take control of power and speed, Quinting watches could take control of transparency and precision.

ArtioteQuintinG : the challenging men from Switzerland.

Innovative and adventurous spirit has driven Pascal Berclaz, president of Quinting, the manufacture that has built its reputation on luxury haute couture watches of exceptional technical merit to team up with ArtioteQ Swiss Spirit, the first national team that will represent Switzerland at the world`s most famous sports car endurance race. ArtioteQ is the fusion of three words: Artio, which is the name of a Celtic goddess, protectress of Bern, the Swiss capital; Technical and Quinting.

Sportscar talents, thirty-year old Harold Primat and twenty-eight year old Marcel Fassler, will get behind the wheel of LMPL, ArtioteQ Swiss Spirit`s car, the first Swiss bolide to compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Harold Primat is a professional and daredevil racing driver for whom this will not be the first endurance race. Having competed in US Formula Ford 2000 in 1999 and 2000, Sebring 2005, Daytona 2006, Harold Primat also raced in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2005. His team mate, Marcel Fassler, who comes from Switzerland, can also boast of a successful racing career which begun through cart driving. Then he participated in Formula Renault and French and German F3 racing and won four races in 1999. In the year 2000 he took part in DTM (Deutsche Touren Masters) which is the world wide second best racing series after Formula 1 and closed the 2000-2002 season coming 4th.

The sense of life of these real men in love with speed and sensitive to mechanical beauty, is the challenge. They know that everything has been done but remain convinced that there is everything to do. Pascal Berclaz` challenge was the first completely transparent watch in the world and the drivers of ArtioteQ Swiss Spirit, Harold Primat and Marcel Fassler, could bring Switzerland to the most prestigious endurance race in the world.

Endurance racing is a test of the durability and reliability of the equipment used to race. Unlike every form of racing where the duration of the race is measured in kilometers or miles, in the endurance car races such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans it is always based on time. This is one of things that separates endurance racing from other form of motor sports, and there is direct link to the importance of time and timing. An error in timekeeping has the potential to result in driver`s error. The race driver`s watch has to be rugged and durable enough to withstand the high speed pressure. The Quinting chronograph which is a true technical feat, that the ArtioteQ Swiss Spirit`s drivers will wear during the race, embodies these two defining characteristics.Dynamic look, large diameter of 43,8 mm, this model has been designed to herald the Quinting becoming the sponsor of the Swiss team, ArtioteQ Swiss Spirit, in the 24 Hours of Le Mans car races. The collection is limited to 24 pieces in each style and available in 7 variations:black dial and rose, white or yellow gold caseback, white dial and rose, white or yellow gold caseback, and chrome finish dial and white gold caseback. All pieces in each style are individually numbered on the caseback and movement from one to twenty four. The dial echoes the type used for the dashboard counters of the ArtioteQ Swiss Spirit`s car. Four white crosses on red background that replace numerals at 12h, 3h, 6h and 9h evoke the national flag of Switzerland.
