Arbor Books is Proud to Announce the Release of the New Book -- Through the Eyes of Madness by Gary Garner
Seattle, WA, March 22, 2008 --(PR.com)-- There are several organizations that promote donating money to sponsor families around the world, but few are run by people who have had the opportunity of living amongst those they aim to help.
Gary Garner, a vagabond for the twenty-first century and author of the new book Through the Eyes of Madness, spent the past five years traveling across the globe, living in villages with families who had just enough means to survive day to day.
“I was amazed by the generosity I received throughout my travels,” says Garner. “Families with barely enough food to feed themselves were often willing to share half of what little they had with me, a total stranger.”
During his journey, Garner had the chance to witness a simpler life—one that most people only see on TV. While on his global exploration, he experienced:
Witnessing a brutal murder on the South China Sea
The wrath of an angry mob in the midst of a Nepalese civil war
His own near-death at the heights of Mt. Everest
Being ambushed and robbed in Costa Rica by very unusual suspects
Countless other harrowing escapes that illustrate valuable and moving life lessons.
Garner’s experience motivated him to promote the sale of his book and offer proceeds to benefit families around the world. But the author’s charitable work doesn’t end there.
“I am working on several deals that include an independent film, a reality television series and an apparel line,” says Garner. “I hope to use these projects to shine a light on the causes and communities that meant so much to me during my travels.”
Mr. Garner adds, “To date, as a result of book sales, I have delivered funds to assure that children on three continents will receive education and appropriate school supplies, as well as meals. Hopefully, these new projects will allow me to contribute on a much larger scale.”
To learn more about the breakout book critics are hailing as “the most ingenious and intriguing adventure book ever written,” visit www.ThroughtheEyesofMadness.com or preview a video interview with the author on YouTube at, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2eVEFmcljfc
