Active Travel Takes Center Stage at NY Times Travel Show with Healthy Aging®
For the second consecutive year, the experts in active travel for the 78 million baby boomers now entering retirement, Healthy Aging®, will be presenting unique travel ideas to travelers at the New York Times Travel Show, January 25-27 in New York City at booth 448.
New York, NY, January 10, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Active travelers aged 45 and up now comprise a vital and growing proportion of the travel business as more than 78 million baby boomers redefine the concept of retirement and empty nesting. For the second consecutive year, the experts in active travel for older Americans, Healthy Aging®, will be presenting unique travel ideas to travelers at the New York Times Travel Show, January 25 -27 in New York City at booth 448.
The Healthy Aging® team will be on hand to offer ideas to active adult travelers who are researching “insider” local experiences, active sports destinations, voluntourism programs, educational and cultural opportunities, retirement relocation, as well as wellness bucket list and solo travel.
“We are excited to be participating in the New York Times Travel Show for the second year,” says Carolyn Worthington, Healthy Aging Magazine publisher. “We were blown away by the numbers of 45-plus visitors last year - bolstering our belief that this group is ready and able to take on the world – again. We will be sharing unique ideas for the insider experiences.”
“Trends we are seeing include more grandparents traveling with their grandchildren, a greater interest in experiences among an already well-traveled group, desire to combine ‘active’ with relaxation,” Worthington says. “Gone are the days of moving from one meal to the next. Our audience wants ideas for feeling great after a vacation as opposed to packing on pounds from sitting and eating.”
Highlights from Healthy Aging® include:
• Meet The Experts – Travel Destinations & Tips for The Active Traveler
Carolyn Worthington will be on hand at the Meet The Experts session on January 27th from 12:00 – 12:45 pm to answer questions on “Travel Destinations & Tips for the Active Traveler.”
• Road Trips Across America Seminar
In addition, Healthy Aging® & Carolyn Worthington will lead a panel of active travel experts on Sunday, January 27 from 12 to 1pm. The theme is “Road Trips across America” and will feature a panel of road trippers to learn where to experience the historic, quirky, and unique soul of America. Panelists include authors Jamie Jensen, Road Trip USA; Margaret Littman, Moon Nashville to New Orleans Road Trip; Jason Frye, Moon Blue Ridge Parkway Road Trip; Stuart Thornton, Moon California Road Trip.
The Great American Road Trip is one of our country’s most vibrant traditions - the open road, the diverse beauty of the American landscape, and the discovery of the country’s regional culture and cuisines.
Guests will be entertained and informed by the experts’ firsthand stories, while they learn the best American road trip routes and what to see along the way. Book signings by all authors will follow at the onsite bookstore.
A previous seminar panel led by Worthington attracted an audience of over 300 show-goers looking for ideas on where to go next.
Over 32,000 visitors are expected to attend the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center on New York’s west side exploring ideas for their next vacation. All show attendees wishing to participate in the Healthy Aging® Magazine random drawing for free vacation stays will have the opportunity to have their badges scanned and entered in the drawing at the door of the seminar as well as at the Healthy Aging® booth, #448.
