Corky Reed-Watt Publishes Debut Novel Filled with Suspense
A woman in the midst of a midlife crisis stars in a new fictional thriller released by Dog Ear Publishing. This is a first novel for Corky Reed-Watt.
Colorado Springs, CO, January 14, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Product manager Beverly Scott feels like she’s in a bit of a rut and is suffering from a mid-life crisis. Her life takes a dramatic turn when she discovers a dead body in a restroom at the office, but the drama doesn’t stop there. Readers can follow her story in a new book released Dog Ear Publishing.
After her husband had an affair and divorced her, Beverly became a single mother with three teenagers to raise. Life as a single mother is no picnic, especially when none of her children – even her musically gifted daughter – seem motivated to do well in school and still rely on her as their alarm clock.
A new man in her life and a potential new friend fail to distract her from the horror of murder and the continuing saga of unpleasant surprises uncovered as she tries to unravel who is responsible.
As a woman who struggles to do the “right thing,” she is challenged with the routine daily life of a single mom and a job that doesn’t challenge her. She wants to make a difference, even if it brings the potential for failure. Can she find the courage to help catch the person responsible for the mounting crimes at Gerry’s Socks & Shoes?
“Midlife fairy Tales & Murder” shares the story of a woman who longs to reach for the stars yet finds herself drawn back to earth time and again. She never thought she’d be living life on the edge, which makes the experience surreal, causing her to be reluctant to tell her family and friends what’s going on. The emotional intensity builds until she realizes that she has put herself in a life or death situation and may not make it out alive.
This is the first novel for author Corky Reed-Watt, who has written poetry, magazine articles, marketing materials, training materials and speeches. She works as a technology program/project manager. She has a bachelor’s degree in information technology and a master’s degree in business administration.
Reed-Watt, who illustrated the cover of the book, enjoys painting, needlework, glass fusing, sewing and gardening. She is working on her next novel, “Family Untied, Lives Entwined.”
