Chicago, IL, March 23, 2008 --(PR.com)-- On April 4, more than 250 business and economic leaders from the Greater Chicago area are expected to attend the Annual Market Trends Breakfast Meeting – a comprehensive merger and acquisition (M&A) and private equity network event hosted by the Association for Corporate Growth Chicago (ACG Chicago).

The annual event will take place at The Standard Club and will provide professionals focused on corporate growth, corporate development and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) with an opportunity to hear from leading economic and business authorities on the state of the global economy and trends in the local deal-making environment.

Adolfo L. Laurenti, senior economist at Mesirow Financial, will deliver the opening remarks. He will discuss the state of the local, national and global economy; forecast the remainder of 2008 and beyond; and address factors that may affect the deal-making environment.

Following Mr. Laurenti’s remarks, James H. Litinsky, founder and managing member of JHL Capital Group, will discuss trends in the public equity and fixed incomes markets as well as provide brief commentary on distressed investing in the public markets. David G. Chandler, founding partner of Chicago Growth Partners, will provide insight on the current state of middle market M&A activity from a private equity investor’s perspective. He will also address transaction volume, industry dynamics and transaction multiples. Finally, Andrew W. Chidester, managing director of Duff & Phelps, will provide an investment banker’s perspective on trends in the healthy and distressed M&A markets and discuss the state of the debt markets.

"Despite The Wall Street Journal reports that many economists believe the U.S. has finally slid into recession, to date, Chicago’s middle market has not been impacted as severely as those in other cities across the U.S.” said Tom Turmell, ACG Chicago co-chair of the M&A and private equity network and principal at Golub Capital. "The Annual Market Trends Breakfast Meeting will provide ACG Chicago members and guests with insight from the area’s leading experts on how uncertainty in the national and global economy will impact the local deal-making environment in the short term.”
